Meet Ryan Cobbins of Coffee at The Point in Five Points

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Cobbins.
Ryan D. Cobbins is the Owner of Coffee at The Point, a 3,000 square foot community-inspired and community-driven coffee and wine lounge in the heart of the Five Points neighborhood in Denver. In addition to coffee, the coffee shop offers loose-leaf teas, pastries, desserts, made-to-order gourmet sandwiches, soups, Gelato (Italian Ice Cream), craft beer, wine, cocktails, and an assortment of other exciting foods to fill your appetite. Coffee at The Point has earned the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award 2018 and Denver’s A-List Best Coffee Shop 2018.
Coffee at The Point opened in November 2010. Ryan began creating the business plan for the coffee shop in late February 2010. Prior to February, Ryan would’ve never thought of owning and operating a coffee shop as his experience in coffee was limited — with his extra vanilla syrup latte he would order from Starbucks every four to six months. Although limited knowledge in coffee, Ryan was an expert in having eternal optimism. And there’s nothing more optimistic than sipping a cup of coffee while meeting friends, getting work done, or just realizing. Prior to opening, Ryan remembers ordering several books, previewing several local shops to gather ideas, and spending a week in Holland, Michigan at a Barista school that went from A to Z, drink recipe making to operations to working with staff.
This venture has proven to be successful as Coffee at The Point turns nine years old in November this year. Coffee at The Point is a valuable part of the community. The shop has been honored with several awards including the 2018 Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year, 2018 Denver A-List Best Coffee Shop, 2015 Coffee Fest Top five Best Coffeehouses in America, and others.
