Planning for Life

In this month's Planning for Life section, we're going to focus on a couple of events going on in October. Being a fraternal financial organization, we have a strong emphasis on giving back to the community, we also aim to highlight those individuals and organizations that are giving back to their community as well.
This past Friday, October 7th, Modern Woodmen partnered with legendary Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, along with volunteers to help with their fall work project. We spent the day painting, cleaning, and repairing the theater to get it ready for their upcoming showcase. Modern Woodmen donated $500 to go towards supplies and their volunteer effort. Cleo Parker Robinson Dance has been a local institution with global reach for over four decades. We are extremely proud to be able to help them. Please check out www.cleopakerdance.org to find out more, check out one of their breathtaking performances, or sign up for one of their many classes.
Each year, Modern Woodmen recognizes individuals for their accomplishments and contributions to the community. On Tuesday, October 25th, Modern Woodmen will present Chaka with our Hometown Hero award. Chaka has worked tirelessly to inform and engage the community in areas such as housing, health, education, and finances. Chaka regularly holds numerous events including, conferences, think-tanks, one-on-ones, and round table discussions. She will receive $100 to donate to an organization of her choice. Modern Woodmen will provide snacks and refreshments during her award ceremony. Please join us at Coffee at The Point on October 25th at 5pm to celebrate this Hometown Hero.
